Norwich Cosmetic Clinic Skin Rejuvenation Techniques
Many people want to improve the texture of their skin to reduce the signs of ageing, scars or blemishes. Chemical peels can help to restore a younger, fresher appearance by removing a layer of skin with a chemical preparation. As the skin grows back, it is smoother than before and imperfections are reduced. Here at Norwich Cosmetic Clinic our experienced Cosmetic Surgeons and Therapists are proud to offer all Skin Rejuvenation Therapies to the highest standard. With a wealth of knowledge in all treatments and procedures our experts will advise you of perfect treatment to reinvent your skin!
Intense Pulsed Light Skin Rejuvenation
The clinic uses combined bipolar radio-frequency and pulsed light energies of the elos technology precisely and safely to target pigmented lesions such as freckles, sunspots and age spots, Vascular lesions such as spider veins and redness from rosacea/facial flushing are also lightened and gradually fade.
Immediately after treatment one may notice a darkening up of the lesion. Gradual and cumulative improvement of skin tone is typically achieved between 3-6 treatment sessions on a monthly basis. The total number of required treatment sessions depends on your skin's condition. Schedule a consultation to establish your personalised treatment schedule. This is a no downtime procedure. Many patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment. For more information on the elos technology visit www.syneron.com

Intense Pulsed Light Acne Treatment
This utilises a blue light wavelength to treat active acne by destroying the cell walls of the bacteria that cause acne and reduces sebum (oily secretions). The clinic combines this treatment with microdermabrasion/enzyme mask treatments for the best results. 4-6 treatments are usually required weekly depending on how severe the acne condition is.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fractional Laser Resurfacing
The SmartXide DOT is a fractional CO2 laser system that is able to stimulate collagen by only hitting small areas in depth, leaving normal skin in-between and therefore this technology does away with the traditional CO2 laser side effects of pain, scabs and swelling. The fractional laser method now enables a significant reduction of after treatment pain and redness. Usually post treatment redness lasts only a few days (4-7 days) and can be easily covered with cosmetics. Usually 2-4 treatments are required 30 - 40 days apart for melasma(deep pigmentation of the skin), acne scarring and deep facial lines. The treatment is safe and effective meaning that it can be used for all types of skin and for different parts of the body eg. face, neck, decolette and hands, even with the most delicate skin type. The laser stimulates your own collagen and therefore results continue to improve for at least 6 months from your last treatment.
Dermalux LED Phototherapy
The Dermalux LED Phototherapy treatment is a non-surgical skin treatment that uses the power of natural light by energising cells to repair faster and is especially beneficial after laser resurfacing treatments as it reduces the redness and calms the skin. The treatment is absolutely pain free and has been clinically proven to be suitable for all skin types, is relaxing and excellent for improving the appearance of a tired skin leaving it plump and radiant. As well as helping to reverse the signs of ageing the LED technology helps clear all blemishes and heals sensitive skin conditions such as rosacea, acne, eczema and psoriasis.
A course of this treatment is recommended and will dramatically leave the skin looking flawless, youthful and healthy.
Microdermabrasion is a smooth and gentle exfoliation that leave the skin feeling deep cleansed and soft. Removes top layer of dead dormant cells without traumatising the dermal layers. Microdermabrasion will lighten the dull lifeless skin to help combat the ageing process naturally.
There are various types of chemical peel - superficial, medium and deep - and they achieve different results. Superficial peels are easy to apply and the time needed for healing is minimal, but they won't achieve long lasting or dramatic results. Medium peels can achieve more dramatic and long lasting results for blemishes, fine lines and facial scarring. A deep peel will help reduce more severe facial wrinkles.
This peel offers an efficient lightening method against skin blemishes caused by melanin. The Dermamelan peel is highly effective for all kinds of skin blemishes (melasma, chloasma, age related blemishes, pregnancy blemishes and blemishes caused by oral contraceptives) The Dermamelan method can be initiated at any time of the year, provided the patient uses moisturising sun protection on a daily basis, so as to permit exposure to the sun without negative effects on the blemishes being treated. Dermamelan is compatible with any skin phenotype and has a wide margin of safety. During the third or fourth week of cosmetic treatment using the Dermamelan method, the skin will already show a substantial improvement. Skin discolourations being treated tend to diminish and simultaneously the skin will start to show a brighter and rejuvenated look. In 99% of cases involving blemishes or abnormal hyper-pigmentation of epidermal origin the blemish elimination process achieved a 95% efficacy rate.
Obagi Blue Radiance Peel
All peels use an acid-base to literally remove the top layer of skin thereby encouraging cell renewal for fresher, younger looking skin. The higher the concentration of acid, the deeper the peel and the longer the downtime.
However, the Obagi Blue Radiance peel has a combination of BHA and AHA acids. The main component of which is salicylic acid. Designed to be used in a course of 4-6 treatments, it is perfect if you can’t accommodate the week of downtime associated with one-off deeper peels.
A course of 4-6 treatments that can be done in your lunchtime is a gentle but effective way of getting skin in tip-top shape coming up to the Christmas party season, a wedding, or after the skin-damaging effects of a holiday in the sun and sea. It improves the general texture and tone of skin and helps with photo damage, acne scarring, and signs of sun damage.
Your Qualified skincare practitioner will discuss the best treatment plan for you and your skins needs.
Dermaplaning at Norwich Cosmetic Clinic
Dermaplaning is a safe (provided the person performing it is properly trained) and highly effective physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently "shave" the skin's surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellous hair (aka peach fuzz).
An aesthetician uses a small, sterile blade while holding the skin taut, moving the blade in a gentle upward motion. The blade is used on clean, dry skin on the forehead, cheeks, chin, nose and neck. You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone, while the long-term effects are increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, and the removal of fine facial hair.
Because Dermaplaning is non-invasive it has a low risk of complications and is one of the safest skin rejuvenation procedures available. Some patients report redness or dry feeling in their skin after a treatment, but this is temporary. Very rarely the skin can be nicked. This typically heals almost on the spot – remember – most men use a blade on their faces almost every day and nick themselves regularly with no long-term effects! Typical care following your treatment includes the use of serums/moisturisers and sunscreen, and avoiding sun exposure for a few days. There is no downtime for this "lunch hour" procedure, and most people return to their regular activities immediately.
This can be combined with other treatments such as facial peels and LED phototherapy to really enhance the skin quality!!
Vampire Facial (PRGF / PRP Therapy)
Platelet Releasing Growth Factors and Platelet Rich Plasma
Use Your Own Blood To Rejuvenate Your Face!
First, the doctor draws some blood from a vein in your arm. Then, using a centrifuge, the doctor isolates platelets from that blood (platelet rich plasma or PRP), all within about ten minutes. Themn the doctor activates those platelets to cause the release from the platelets of at least 8 growth factors that would normally be used to heal injured tissue. These growth factors work like magic to cause increased collagen and new blood flow. To rejuvenate new skin, these growth factors must be put back into your face. Using a numbing cream and a very small needle (for almost no pain) the doctor injects the patients own growth factors back into the face in a particular way. These growth factors then activate multi-potent stem cells already in the skin (tricking them into thinking there has been an injury and new younger tissue should be generated). Their multi-potent stem cells then develop into new collagen, new blood vessels, and new fatty tissue trying to "repair" the skin that was never injured,. The effects of the procedure improve for 2 to 3 months and last for at least 1 to 2 years.
